Lost Balance

Author | Alan Harris

There was a time
her hair was colored red
she had danced with the Rockettes
she took her children to museums
she taught them to laugh
she survived cancer
a rotten marriage
only to be put on a morphine drip
to ease the pain
caused by a throw rug
left behind by the ex
upon which she had fallen
for the last time
