You cast your faith from the mountains,
offering peace, while pushing up steam
from the chasm. And as viridescent frames
contort around your body just
to shelter you from the sun,
the world takes heed to your purple pulse.
An African slave song, your pulse
jumps from the high tops of mountains
into the low trees with no sun.
From your naked back, comes steam
calling for help from your just
God. Will he come from his golden frame?
Around your neck is Jesus' face in a frame,
a nail to control your volatile pulse.
Whenever you're in the woods, you just
run back to the foothills of mountains
covered in a cloud of cold steam.
Your eyes look up towards the sun.
But you wake every day to no sun,
convinced that it must have one-sided frames
that keep your blackened skin's steam
out. Do you think it feels your pulse,
as you climb up the tall sides of mountains?
If it does, do you consider it just?
You go onto your hands and knees just
before you reach the sun,
forced to watch it fall from mountains
and into the abyss of iron frames.
But this time you feel its pulse
as a steady up rise of steam.
From there, comes hot-blooded steam
that crawls down in between your legs just
in time to feel the last beats of your pulse.
Maybe you reached the sun
when you waved at the sky in spite of frames
turned down over the mountains.
In the midst of steam pouring out sun,
you find your just God without frames
and your pulse, the high calling of mountains.
